Yes Readingdrive is a nonprofit organization. All donations made are tax deductible.

Why should I donate my money to this cause?
There are many worthy causes to donate your time or money. This is true. However, this mission is in its start-up phase so you have a unique opportunity to see first-hand how your money is being put to work! You can visit us at www.readingdrive.org or, www.facebook.com/readingdriv anytime to see real time updates on the progress of our libraries and pictures of the children you are directly impacting.
What percentage of the money I donate goes to the creation of libraries?
100%! Every dollar you donate goes directly into the libraries. We are working in extremely humble surroundings. The money you donate will be used to make tables, chairs, install lighting, create training materials and update and maintain these libraries. Because everyone involved in this project is donating their time there are no overhead costs.
Why are you starting libraries in Africa vs. the United States?
We are focusing our efforts in Africa due to the high illiteracy rate there. The literacy rate in the US is 99% vs. Africa at 66%. Nine out of the ten countries with the highest illiteracy rates are in Africa.
Why do you need money as well as books to start a library?
We are working in extremely humble surroundings. The money you donate will be used to build tables, chairs, install lighting, create training materials and update and maintain these libraries. It is also extremely expensive to ship books to Africa so some of the money raised goes towards
shipping costs.

Besides financial donations are there other ways I can help?
Yes! There are many ways you can help.
1. You can hold a book drive or coordinate a fundraiser.
2. We’d also like to partner with organizations that can help us. If you know of any organizations that might like to get involved let us know.
3. You can spread the word or volunteer your time to help us further our cause!
4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
