The "Book Ownership Campaign"
"There is power in book ownership". When we took books to St. Joseph Mamfe, the students descended on the books and I could hear their voices "sister I want this book", "sister I will write my name on this one", "see I like the pictures"," I want my own book". Yes it is not enough to have a library, owning a book and being able to write their names on the books is important.
We want to reach as many kids as we can. Our goal is to give each child in St. Joseph and Ancilla a book of their own, a book they can write their name on it and a book they can take home. We are partnering with Firstbook to provide the books. Firstbook gives us the flexibility to select books that children in Cameroon can relate to. We want to children to start taking ownership of their reading abilities.
How it Works
For only $5.00 you can provide a student with a new book in Cameroon
We select the books we want on firstbook according to grade level
Firstbook ships the books to us in Omaha and we ship the books to Cameroon and deliver them to the schools.
